This may be the first time I’ve ever used the dotted-lines-to-indicate-line-of-sight cartoon trope. I feel proud. I could draw a Nancy.
Is this the second time this season where one of the Dynamic Duo is “brainwashed” and there are trust problems?
Great strip! Loving Brainwashed!Scully’s look.
One to go!
Yeah, brainwashed Scully for the win. The TV static lines in her eyes are inspired cartoonery.
Oh, and I want Frohike’s mug.
The ‘mistaking the dog for another woman and wacking your husband’ is the detail of this episode that stuck with me over the years…
I never thought I could ever be made to feel sorry for CSM, but that last panel made me want to give him a hug. Damn you!
Not even “Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man”? Man, that one was sad. (Admittedly though, not really in the ‘he needs a hug’ way that Shaenon draws.) 🙂
CSM was always the tragically misunderstood anti-hero. He was just trying to get his Care Bear collection back, poor, lonely man!
Mulder is naturally a paranoid conspiracy nut. He doesn’t need artificial paranoia enhancers!
And the expression of the day is …
Uh … huh.
I’m with Dave, my thoughts before the revelation of Mulder’s sight issues was that it was something along the lines of the old saying about not being able to con a con artist … in this case, you can’t really make a conspiracy theorist more paranoid than they already are.
Just finished season 3 and watching S4E01 as I am writing this … and here I had gotten used to watching an episode then reading the MotW recap before going to the next. Definitely wishing I had watched the series originally, can see what I was missing. In my defense I was kinda busy at the time since I didn’t get out of the Navy until the middle of season 5. 🙂
