I haven’t seen this ep. Did the monster use a straw, also?

The whole thing about being right but everyone thinking you’re mad adds to the atmosphere.

Scully is catching up on all the movies she missed the previous year, 1997. She didn’t even have time to see Titanic!

The only one of those movies I’ve seen is Titanic, but hopefully, a few years later, Scully would add ‘Josie & the Pussycats’ to her collection — I’m going to rewatch that movie next week with some friends.

This episode looks great.

There are a couple of early ‘why doesn’t everyone just listen to Scully’ moments which I quite enjoyed, though it was a bit undercut by the inevitable ‘why doesn’t Scully just listen to Mulder’ moment later on. One little moment I appreciated at the end was after Scully busts in and shoots the giant blurry bug monster, which flees out of the window, and Mulder just looks and Scully and raises one eyebrow. Good stuff! I also liked when Mulder went into the shooter’s house and found an identical map-and-string murderboard to the one that he had set up in his office.
