You ignored the part where the militia guy who looked like the guy from Seinfeld broke two of Mulder’s fingers, because that gave an excuse for Scully to treat the broken fingers and get all touchy-healy with Fox

This episode is not very X-Files-y, but it is pretty good, and also pretty gross, so I forgive the lack of an alien or supernatural subplot. The weaselly government guy’s rant at the end didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but I guess weaselly government guys’ rants usually don’t.

What with all the crossing and double-crossing, I admit I kind of lost track of whose face got eaten at the end, so I’m glad to have that cleared up here. Shaenon’s renditions of the masks are only marginally cuter than the actual masks — Mulder should wear his vampire mask ALL THE TIME.

I thought it was kind of funny that about three or four people within the show independently figured out what the GENIUS EVIL PLAN was at the end. Actually, Mulder was the last one on the scene, for a change.

It will come as no surprise that my main complaint about this episode is that, despite a pretty decent amount of Skinner, there is little to no punching.

Scully should get all of the cool jackets. (Though she almost got Mulder killed in this episode. Ooops!)
