I went back and read the first season comics to see which was my favorite, but there are so many great ones I couldn’t do it!

Some of the episodes were hit and miss but I liked the mutant who needed to eat livers (of only certain compatible people) then go hybernate for decades. Originally they wanted the old cop to be an old news reporter of the weird by the name of “Karl Kolshak” but the actor, Darren McGavin who played him said “no” though later he did do at least two X Files as a kind of Deep Throat character.

Ah, the halcyon days when FOX didn’t cancel everything that showed some promise in its first season. If they had started this series just 5 or so years later, it would NEVER had made it past this point…if it hadn’t been killed about 12 episodes earlier.

Damn, I’m old. I just realized this was damn near 20 years ago. GET OFF MY LAWN!

Jesus was more about the slapstick than the jokes. His water-into-wine bit brought the house down, and yielded a gratifying number of spit-takes. People are still talking about that one.
