As one of the directors of Xena: Warrior Princess said, "If you can't make it good, make it blue." Mulder stubble, on the other hand, is a gift. If you're not born with it, you'll never achieve it.

The first time I watched this episode was 16 years ago, in an ancient b&w TV. I thought it was brilliant and super creepy. When I got to rewatch it again in colour, I was blown away by its superb cinematography and the eerie blue lights/shadows. I also loved Mulder’s characterisation (and his uber-sexy stubble and cheek stitches!). It remains one of my favorite S3 episodes.

Didn’t really feel the episode was all that well-written when it came to the twist. Oh well, they can’t all be winners.
