This episode has so much great stuff in it, but the way that Scully shoots Mulder, sedates him, and transports him cross-country at the drop of a hat AS THOUGH SHE’D PREPARED FOR THIS EVENTUALITY is a highlight.

I love, love, LOVE this episode, it’s my favorite season finale (with S7’s “Requiem” a very close second). WildwingSuz is right, though, we needed the naked MulderChest with the gunshot wound! Not to mention Mulder in boxers…

PS. To this very day, I am not sure *at all* that these dead bodies were aliens. Why would they have the vaccination scar on their arms, if they were? I actually believe they were the Merchandise, i.e. humans experimented on with alien DNA, injected in them through the smallpox vaccination.

This ep is great but, oh God, the next one has Mulder’s vision quest. It’s ALMOST as bad as Scully in the boat but not quite. At least we get a ton of exposition in it, tho.

My favorite part of this episode was how Mulder went out into the desert, climbed into a boxcar buried underground, whipped out his vintage-1995 cellphone, and got a clear signal.
