My procedure for making Monster of the Week strips is scattershot. Usually I watch the episode and then scribble down a thumbnail later, but once in a while I take notes, especially if it’s an episode I’m not familiar with and/or I can’t figure out what the heck is going on without a scorecard. These are my notes for “3,” the vampire episode from the first season.

Season 2, Episode 24: Our Town

I love this episode. They should’ve done a follow-up where Mulder and Scully fight the genetically-engineered twenty-legged KFC chicken of urban legend.

Season 2, Episode 23: Soft Light

The X-Files has so many before-they-were-stars moments. In addition to featuring Tony “Monk” Shalhoub (or, as Andrew knows him, Tony “Scarpacci from Wings” Shalhoub), this was the first X-Files directed by Vince Gilligan, who went on to create Breaking Bad. So, pretty solid talent here.
